Our Business at a Glance
For more than 45 years, the Caposellos has been installing swimming pools as well as selling pool supplies. Being a family-owned-and-operated business enables us to sell the products that we feel are the best for our friends and neighbors, rather than only those with a high-profit margin.
Doing business in a small town year after year, we understand how important it is to offer our customers the best service possible. We have come to know our customers, their children, and their grandchildren, which would not be possible to do for 45 years without looking out for their interests.
Through the years, we have used many different products from diverse companies. As such, our family has also learned through experience which products are proven to work best and last the longest. In the end, this benefits our customers as we do the testing for them!
The Caposello Family
Our family has been a part of the Bayonne community since before the 1900s. In 1905, we opened the Caposello’s Bakery, which had supported local families through the Great Depression and other tough times for more than 70 years. Members of our family were involved with everything, including school bus service, construction, religion, and many other ways, to help our community grow.
We are comprised of almost all blue-collar workers, such as boilermakers and union workers. Some of us also worked in various small businesses, such as restaurants, bars, package delivery services—not to mention our pool store. We have had many friends and employees from our town and have been a part of local lives for as long as we have been Americans.
The Pool Store Story
In the mid-seventies, we started a small business to build and install swimming pools for those who could not get out of town or afford to take vacations, which proved to be more important than we could imagine at the time.
Over the years, we learned all about swimming pool works and the needs of the residents who have a pool in their property. Instead of expanding into the type of store that sells all kinds of equipment regardless of how well it works, we remained a family business that was more concerned with the people than the profit.
The Products We Provide
For many years, we have studied the pool construction business and the essential products involved in the design-and-build projects. We will not sell anything that we do not feel is of the highest quality. A lot of cheaper filters, chemicals, and parts are made by cutting corners or using lower percentages of the correct chemicals.
If a pool product does not work, we do not sell them. For your peace of mind, we make it a point to perform testing procedure to ensure quality.
We intend to keep seeing the same customers come through our store year after year. It is not worth selling things just to sell them. We believe everything has a purpose.
Pools and Pricing
We support local manufacturers and buy straight from the factory to eliminate the middleman. When a company is located in our area, we can get the necessary parts faster, saving our customers additional wait time.
For example, we sold Lomart products for many years. When the business was relocated to Arizona, it became very difficult to get their replacement parts promptly. For the maintenance of the pools we sold more than two decades ago, Lomart parts for the pools we build are still shipped to us every year even though we no longer stock them.
Services and Permits
We provide various services that need to be approved by the city government of Bayonne. When a permit is required, we do everything we can to help you obtain it, including going to the city hall and acquiring the necessary documents to build your pool. We are your helping hand in making the process easier and more efficient.
